42 Worcester is the only alternative genre spoken word event in Worcestershire. Founders Glenn and Angela James opened the doors at 42 for the first time in March 2011. Glenn and Angela moved on, John Taylor organised the event for some months, and for six years Andrew Owens and Polly Stretton took the helm. Andrew’s had to step back, but Polly continues to run the event, considered to be one of the most welcoming event and audiences around.
The focus is on Gothic, Horror, Sci-fi and Fantasy writing though many stories and poems are about the darker side of everyday life.
We meet at Drummonds at The Swan, New Street, Worcester WR1 2DP on the last Tuesday of each month. Doors open at 19:00 for a prompt 19:30 start—all welcome.
42 Worcester takes part in The Worcestershire Literary Festival run by Worcestershire LitFest & Fringe every year. Bookmark or Favourite this website to keep up-to-date!
